Description

Members of the Texas Children’s Global Health Corps (GHC) work at sites across sub-Saharan Africa to provide vital care to children and their families, while also training health professionals throughout their country of assignment. Physicians will be involved with program implementation, incorporating country and donor guidelines within the clinic setting. Members of the GHC will be involved in treating a wide variety of diseases and conditions impacting child health and survival globally, such as tuberculosis, malaria, malnutrition, peri-natal conditions, cancer, and sickle cell anemia, in addition to HIV. Responsibilities will include seeing patients and their family members in clinic, training workers in the clinic, outreach work involving treatment and training in regions surrounding the clinic, and other clinic related duties as assigned. There will likely be research collaboration opportunities within the clinic setting, as well.
